What: For a fixed price, your student can receive a comprehensive copy edit (line-by-line, grammatical check) and a developmental edit (overall story, theme). The price also includes a meeting beforehand, where we brainstorm topics and create an outline.

How: The student will generate a first draft of the essay and send it to Henna for edits. While I will not write the essay for your student, I will instead add suggestions directly onto your document. The student can accept/decline these suggestions. This back-and-forth process continues (with unlimited drafts per essay) until you are satisfied with the final product.

Am I qualified to critique your work?
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (cum laude) from UC Santa Barbara, 12 published poems, a 150-page Master's thesis for Northwestern University, and am a WIP debut author for the Society of Children's Book Writers. I have worked on Northwestern’s admissions committee, attended essay writing conferences at USC and UChicago, and have read 3000+ admissions essays. My goal is to help you write an authentic story that uses classical conventions of writing appropriately.
